The G Running Diary
I went back to helping with more feet. Don and Steve relaxed in the
tent, and then Don wandered around. We hung out for the ceremony, and
eventually figured we had to get Steve out of there. He was in no shape
to drive, so we took him to his hotel room. The good thing about that
was that we could borrow his shower. Don drove Steve and I stopped at
Longs for Tecnu and McDonalds for big food.
The Motel 6 was comfy. We sat around eating. I felt tired enough, so I
could imagine what Steve and Don must have been feeling. Steve just
wanted to lie down, but that buckle had to be within eyesight.
We finally left, proud of what we'd accomplished. Apart from the time I
finished Western States, this was one of the best weekends ever! I was
just so happy to be part of the race, and happy to think that I made a
difference to Steve and to other runners out there. And, Steve said that
he didn't get any blisters at all, thanks to my great taping job.
